How to Overcome Life Crises by Faith-Outline

FAITH: THE HEARTBEAT OF AUTHENTIC CHRISTIAN LIVING
How to Overcome Life Crises by Faith

Memory Verse: (Mark 11:22 NIV)  "Have faith in God," Jesus answered.

Scripture Basis:  Hebrews 11:23-29

Heb 11:23 - 29 (NKJV) 23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command. 24By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,  25choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,  26esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures £in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. 27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.  28By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

INTRODUCTION:

In this series, we have been studying about the spiritual heroes listed in the Hall of Faith found in Hebrews chapter 11. So far, we have covered two biblical periods:

First, The antediluvian Period:
1. Abel
2. Enoch
3. Noah.

Second, The Patriarchal Period:
1. Abraham
2. Isaac
3. Jacob
4. Joseph.

Third, Now we are looking at the period of the Exodus:
1. Moses

Moses was born in Egypt.

Moses (mo’-zez)= Taken out of the water; saved out of the water; saved from the water; drawn out; drawn forth. A son.--EDBN

2.   We Must Deliberately  Choose the Eternal benefits instead of temporal aggrandizement

Hebrews 11:24–26 (NKJV)
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

5.   We must Defy Insurmountable Obstacles

29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

Hebrews 1:13–14 (NET)
