What Kind of Listener Are You?

Memory Verse: (John 5:30 NIV)  By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

Nigeria at 50: The Way Forward

Nigeria at 50: The Way Forward
Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

In Rememberance of my Father Rev. Joseph Akinlabi Ojewole (December 2 1934 to October 13, 2009)

(Rev 14:13 NIV)  Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."

Just a year ago today, one of the giants in the faith, Rev. Joseph Akinlabi Ojewole, went home to be with the Lord, after a brief illness. It is amazing how quick time flies. His departure has created a big vacuum in the family which no one could fill. One thing that gives the entire family consolation is the fact that he led a very good life. His legacy lives on. We thank the Lord for his commitment to his family and ministry. We, his children, are what we are today because of his perseverance and commitment. We missed him for his love and counsel. His memories will remain indelible in our memories as long as we live. Daddy, we love you. We shall meet again at the feet of Jesus where we shall remain inseparable for eternity. Adios.

THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS DONATIONS TO THE NEEDY

October 11, 2010
To Whom It May Concern:

Dear Sir/Ma,

THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS DONATIONS TO THE NEEDY
This Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, many underprivileged families and those experiencing housing challenges in Antioch, Pittsburg, Oakley, and Brentwood areas would need food and gifts for their children and families. We thank the Lord that you and I are able to make ends meet.
Due to the current economic state of our nation, there are new faces of poverty in our country. Many people who were considered untouched by the economic change of our world in the past, are in need of public assistance presently. It is only by the grace of God that we are all doing well. The sincere reality is simply put this way: “Everyone is a paycheck away from homelessness and poverty.”
I am John Ojewole, the Pastor of Agape Bible Fellowship and the President of Agape International Ministries Foundation. I am of the opinion that no one should spend the holidays lacking the normal holiday necessities such as food and gifts. Those of us who have been privileged to have a little extra could make a difference in someone’s life through our compassionate and generous giving. We all belong to this global village. We are our brother’s and sister’s keeper.
During the coming Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, our ministry intends to provide free turkeys, food, and gifts to families and persons who are in need regardless of their race, creed, and social status. We cannot do this alone. We need your help. If the Lord has laid it on your heart to donate generously to this cause, please give your tax-deductible donation to our Foundation.  Please do not underestimate the impact of your gift, no matter how small. Your change can bring a change to someone’s situation during the holidays. The donation can be sent to us at our address or we can arrange for a pick-up of the donations.

Any designated donation given will be used for their designated purpose. Your generous support is highly appreciated. The Bible says, (Prov 11:25 NIV) A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
God’s grace and peace to you and your loved ones!
Sincerely,

Pastor John

Why Corporate Prayers?

Why Corporate Prayers?

(Acts 6:1-6 NIV)  In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. {2} So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. {3} Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them {4} and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word." {5} This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. {6} They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
