How to Align our Values with God’s

How to Align our Values with God’s
 Memory Verse: 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)  The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Scripture: Jonah 4:1–11
Introduction
First, We must see people as God sees them. Jonah 4:1–3
Exodus 34:6–7; Nehemiah 9:17; Psalm 86:15; Joel 2:13; Psalm 103:8
A Hymn says:
1.    Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave;
Weep o’er the erring one, lift up the fallen,
Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
o    Refrain:
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying,
Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.
2.    Though they are slighting Him, still He is waiting,
Waiting the penitent child to receive;
Plead with them earnestly, plead with them gently;
He will forgive if they only believe.
3.    Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter,
Feelings lie buried that grace can restore;
Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness,
Chords that were broken will vibrate once more.
4.    Rescue the perishing, duty demands it;
Strength for thy labor the Lord will provide;
Back to the narrow way patiently win them;
Tell the poor wand’rer a Savior has died.
 Second, We must care for those things God cares for. Jonah 4:4–9
"Life for Jonah [is] a series of disconcerting surprises and frustrations. He tries to escape from God and is trapped. He then gives up, accepts the inevitability of perishing, and is saved. He obeys when given a second chance, and is frustratingly, embarrassingly successful. He blows up; his frustration is intensified.”-- Judson Mather
Third, We must understand that All People Matter to God. Jonah 4:10–11

Conclusion
God is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34
