Married to Alice since 1987, he enjoys being a father to 2 sons and 1 daughter. He is available to preach, participate in evangelistic crusades and revivals, lead or participate in a Marriage Enrichment program internationally. Getting Through What You are Going Through
Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 2:3 (NKJV) 3 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 11:23-30

Introduction: What is resilience?
 “… The process of facing adversity, trauma, tragedy,
threats, or extreme stress and “bouncing back” successfully without becoming too negatively affected by the experience.”

John 16:33; Romans 8:22

I.                   Paul’s Story of Resilience

1.      Suffered without given up.  2 COR 11:23-25

2.      Experienced Danger without Giving in. 2 Corinthians 11:26–27

3.      Personal Stress but Courageous through it all. 2 Corinthians 11:28–30

II.                Paul’s Source of Resilience

FIRST, his motivation is to finish the task. Acts 20:22–24

Second, He recognized God’s voice. Acts 18:9

Third, He Relied on God’s presence. Acts 18:10, Deuteronomy 31:6

Fourth, He was obedient to the Lord. Acts 18: 11

Conclusion: 2 Corinthians 4:8–18
