Words for Anxious Mom

Words for Anxious Mom

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Peter 5:7 (GW) Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you.

PREAMBLE: Happy mother’s day to all our mothers.
Proverbs 31:29 (NKJV) — 29 “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”

Let us honor our mothers.
Exodus 20:12 (NKJV) — 12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

Every day must be a mother’s day.

First, learn to be still.
Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) — 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Isaiah 26:3 (NIV) — 3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Psalm 23:1–3 (NKJV) — 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Second, learn to release all your anxiety to the Lord.
1 Peter 5:7 (GW) — 7 Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) — 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) — 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Third, learn to rest.
Exodus 20:11 (NKJV) — 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
Mark 6:31 (NIV) — 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”

Fourth, learn to pray
Philippians 4:6–7 (NKJV) — 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Matthew 7:7–8 (ESV) — 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

1 Samuel 1:15 (NIV) — 15 “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.

CONCLUSION:
John 3:16 (NKJV) — 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 1:12–13 (NIV) — 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
