A FRESH START

A FRESH START
 MEMORY VERSE:
Isaiah 43:18–19 (NIV)
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.

Standing on the Promises
R. Kelso Carter, 1849-1926

1.      Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
2.      Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.
o    Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

 “The phrase “from your mouth” refers to the custom of muttering while studying or reflecting. The Hebrew word translated “meditate” (hāg̱āh) literally means “mutter.” When one continually mutters God’s Word to himself, he is constantly thinking about it.” -- Donald H. Madvig
